Job Title: Payroll Administrator | Location: Remote / Hybrid (Croydon) | Hours: Part-time – 12 – 20 hours per week (flexible)

 

The Role

A growing organisation is seeking a detail-oriented and compliant Payroll & Administrator to support payroll operations and general administration on a part-time basis. This role is key to ensuring payroll accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, alongside providing wider administrative support to the business.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience using Xero, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll legislation and compliance. Experience with Simpro would be advantageous but is not essential, as training can be provided.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end weekly/fortnightly payroll, ensuring full legislative compliance
  • Maintain payroll records, employee data, and leave entitlements within Xero (and Simpro where applicable)
  • Reconcile payroll reports, superannuation, and tax obligations
  • Support employee onboarding, including documentation and compliance checks
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable tasks in Xero as required
  • Prepare payroll and administrative reports for management
  • Respond to payroll-related queries professionally and efficiently
  • Provide general administrative support across the business
  • Cover Operations responsibilities (9am–2pm) during holiday periods when required

 

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in payroll administration with strong knowledge of payroll compliance and legislation
  • Proficiency in Xero (essential); Simpro experience beneficial but not required
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Flexibility to work 12 hours per week, with potential to increase up to 20 hours
  • Availability to provide short-term holiday cover when required
