Management Accountant – Temporary to Permanent

Reporting to: Commercial Director

Responsible for: Finance Team (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Invoice Automation & Purchasing Executive)

Salary: £40 – £45,000 + Benefits

 

The Role

We are seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Senior Management Team and take ownership of the company’s finance function. This is a hands-on role responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing cashflow and forecasting, and providing financial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.

The successful candidate will also lead a small finance team, ensuring efficient day-to-day processing across accounts payable, receivable, and purchasing activities while driving continuous improvement within finance operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial analysis
• Manage cashflow, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Provide financial reporting and commercial insight to support business performance
• Lead, support, and develop the Finance Team
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements
• Contribute to strategic planning and performance monitoring as part of the Senior Management Team
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies

 

Candidate Profile

• ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Previous experience within an SME or fast-paced operational environment
• Proven experience managing a small finance team
• Strong hands-on experience producing management accounts and managing cashflow
• Sage experience essential; Sage Intacct experience advantageous
• Knowledge of invoice finance or factoring beneficial but not essential
• Commercially aware, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
