Location: Biggleswade | Hours: Monday – Friday – 35 hours per week, 30-minute lunch break | Salary: £25,000 per annum
We are working with a growing organisation who are seeking an experienced and proactive Inventory Controller to oversee warehouse operations and stock management.
This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring stock accuracy, efficient warehouse processes, and strong operational performance.
Purpose of the Role
The Inventory Controller will be responsible for:
- Controlling and maintaining inventory levels
- Proactively managing stock resources
- Overseeing the despatch of stock to engineers
- Managing stock returns and processing
- Leading and supporting stock checks
- Managing warehouse staff
This role requires a motivated and organised individual who works well within a team and contributes to high levels of customer and client service through efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties
- Oversee and support despatch and picking operations
- Oversee and support stock checks and audits
- Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded
- Oversee new stock processing and engineer returns
- Maintain accurate inventory records and validate stock proactively
- Support the ordering of parts
- Oversee and support collections and deliveries
Strategic Responsibilities
- Attend and support client meetings as required
- Manage all aspects of stock movement
- Report stock anomalies promptly to management
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse performance and processes
Additional Duties
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and escalate issues as required
- Support general warehouse and team activities as needed
Person Specification
Knowledge / Education / Qualifications
- Educated to secondary school level – Essential
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – Essential
- Knowledge of data protection principles – Desirable
Experience
- Experience in a similar warehouse or inventory role – Essential
- Experience delivering excellent customer service – Essential
- Knowledge of the industry – Desirable
