Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The Opportunity

Shepherd Stubbs Recruitment is working with an established and well-respected law firm looking to appoint an experienced Immigration Solicitor to join its growing legal team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor with experience across both Business and Private Immigration to take ownership of a varied caseload, work closely with an experienced Supervising Partner and contribute to the continued development of the department.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Supervising Partner, you will manage your own caseload, providing professional, practical and commercially focused immigration advice to both individual and business clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising on Business, Work, Student, Family and Visitor Visas.
• Managing Sponsor Licence applications and advising businesses on employing migrant workers.
• Handling Settlement and Indefinite Leave to Remain applications.
• Preparing visa extensions and British Citizenship applications.
• Advising on Human Rights, Asylum, Deportation and Removal matters.
• Managing Subject Access Requests and relevant EEA applications.
• Maintaining excellent client relationships and delivering high standards of legal advice.
• Ensuring all work complies with SRA regulations and professional standards.
• Supporting business development activities and contributing towards departmental growth.
• Managing deadlines, maintaining accurate case files and achieving agreed fee targets.

About You

We are looking for a confident, organised and commercially aware Immigration Solicitor who can independently manage a varied caseload while delivering excellent client service.

Ideally, you will have:

• Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
• A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in Immigration Law.
• Experience across both Business and Private Immigration matters.
• A proven ability to manage your own caseload effectively.
• Excellent drafting, communication and client care skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Good IT skills and confidence using legal case management systems.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in business development.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider legal team.
