We hope you are managing to get back into the rhythm of working again after the festive break. It’s that time of the month again where we release the results from our most recent poll. On the first of January 2023, we asked the LinkedIn community: In your experience, what is the most effective interview structure?
To provide a little context behind our first poll of 2023, we were speaking with one of our candidates in December and they had commented that they had never been to an interview where there was a panel of interviewers sat in front of them. This got us thinking about what our clients and candidates feel is their preference when it comes to the interview stage.
We appreciate that the panel structure could at first appear quite daunting for any candidate we pre-select for our client’s job vacancy but it could also be the most effective too with different viewpoints and varied questions all potentially resulting in a quicker hiring decision.
As you can see from our pie chart below, two thirds of our responders were in favour of 1 to 2 and yet only 5% suggested that a panel was most effective.
