In our April 2025 LinkedIn poll, we sought to understand what type of content our professional network finds most valuable on this platform. As LinkedIn continues to evolve as a key resource for professionals across various industries, knowing what resonates with users can guide creators and businesses in their content strategies.

Dominating the responses, ‘Industry News’ was chosen by 58% of participants as the most valuable type of content on LinkedIn. This clear preference highlights the importance of staying informed about the latest trends, developments and changes within one’s industry. It reflects a widespread desire among professionals to remain competitive and knowledgeable in an ever-changing business landscape.

‘Personal Success Stories’ also received a significant portion of the vote, with 25% finding these narratives inspiring and useful. These stories often provide relatable insights and learning opportunities that can motivate professionals to pursue their goals and overcome challenges.

On the other hand, both ‘Career Advice’ and ‘Company Updates’ garnered only 8% each. This suggests that while such content is useful, it may not be as compelling or sought-after as direct information about industry dynamics or motivational personal stories.

These insights are invaluable for anyone looking to engage an audience on LinkedIn. They suggest a strong preference for content that either provides immediate, actionable knowledge about one’s field or offers motivational and educational personal narratives. Understanding these preferences helps content creators and businesses tailor their communications to meet the needs and interests of their LinkedIn audience effectively.
