The main purpose of the Technical Assessor-Construction role is to carry out general building
inspections, both site and quality, to ensure compliance with pre-identified scheme requirements and
Building Regulations.
You will provide relevant information and guidance to installing companies and their installers and be
expected to deliver the required levels of productivity whilst maintaining the quality of inspections
carried out.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Inspection/Reporting Duties
• Complete site and quality inspections of recently completed and in progress building works.
• Complete concise, pre-formatted technical reports on installations and works inspected and detail areas
of non-compliance.
• Keep up to date with all relevant legislation, regulations and technical documentation that apply to the
work accordingly.
• Liaise with clients and communicate relevant inspection reports to BBA administration.
• Provide an efficient and courteous link between members of the public, installers, Architects, Designers,
Builders, and Building Control Bodies.
• Provide information and advice on the range of services provided by the BBA.
• Apply good working knowledge of building practices.
• Deliver the required levels of productivity whilst maintaining the quality of inspections carried out.
Planning/Liaison Duties
• Provide guidance to installing companies to help them meet the requirements of the scheme under
which they are operating.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with other bodies, local authorities, manufacturers etc. to agree,
recommend remedial works.
• Liaise closely with clients, installers and BBA staff to ensure effective execution and communication of
work to be carried out.
• Provide guidance to installers, builders and householders on relevant Building Regulations and
requirements with which they have to comply.
• Manage diary and travel arrangements ensuring best use of own time and to maximise revenue earning
activities.

• Promote and adhere to all BBA policies and actively promote the BBA wherever possible
• Responsible for your own Health and Safety and that of your colleagues and others on the BBA premises
in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and the BBA Health & Safety Handbook.
